The Stupidest Statement of the Month

Christian faith requires accepting evolution.

That statement is stupid for a number of reasons.  First, it turns evolutionary theory into a fundamentalistic ‘article of faith’ which one won’t find in any Creed of Christianity.

Second, it’s stupid because it suggests that a 19th century scientific theory could or would be or was held by Christians across the many centuries of Christianity that existed before the 19th century.

And third, it’s stupid because it’s simply false.  A lie.  There are, whether many so called enlightened ‘Christians’ like it or not, lots of devout and authentic Christians around the world who have never heard the name of Darwin or that of his several feckless followers.

It is a view which can only be held by persons lacking any historical knowledge or theological sense.  It is paternalistic, demeaning, and essentially nothing more than the nonsense of persons who have exalted their own particular, idiosyncratic, and idiotic ideology to the status of Dogma.

It’s the stupidest statement of the month.
