Suppose I have a document that I want to share with just a couple of people. How would I go about doing that? Sorry for the newbie question but I’ve just begun to use it (love it so far) and want to share something but have no idea how. With thanks for any response.

You can control sharing options by creating a folder and sharing it only with the people you select.

There is an outfit called https://www.wetransfer.com/
In essence, you upload whatever file you want to send and add in the email addresses of the people you wish to send it to. They get an email telling them their file is there and you get an email when they have downloaded it.
I find it less trouble than Dropbox.

You create a folder or choose a document you want to share, right click on it, and from the Dropbox tab then choose to share it. It will let you enter the e-mail addresses of those with whom you wish to share it.

no- not it doesn’t. no email option exists.

Are you using a PC? If you right click a fiolder in your Dropbox folder that you want to share, and choose the share option, it doesn’t show you a box into which you can type e-mail addresses so as to share the folder?

If you right click on a file, and then move the mouse to over the Dropbox tab in the menu that appears, what options do you see?

well now on my xp netbook i can see an email choice but on my windows 7 laptop i only get what’s in the photo. very strange.

I think you need to click on the folder, rather than the file.

well that did it. i was trying to select just one file within the folder. you’re right, right clicking on the entire folder allows me to share with various via email. thanks.
