Stupid Angry Atheists, Get a Life

Or stop pretending to be atheists at all.  We all know that your fixation on God belies your claim that you don’t believe in God.  So.  Just.  Shut.  Up.

Stop singing about God or go to court, or so says an atheist organization threatening to sue a school district in Clifton Park, New York. The Freedom From Religion Foundation wants the Shenendehowa district to stop teaching two songs to elementary school kids that include lyrics referencing an almighty creator. The tunes are “Thank You for the World So Sweet” featuring the line, “Thank you God for everything,” and the song “Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep,” which includes “I pray the Lord my soul to keep,” reports the Huffington Post.

A spokeswoman for the school asserts the songs are legal because they are not taught or used as prayers. “Basically our statement is that we don’t officially ban any literature or music,” she tells the Christian Post. The atheist group is waiting for the district’s official response before deciding whether to pursue a lawsuit.

How empty their silly little lives must be.

  1. Jim, separation of religion and state is a vital principle of government policy. Atheists like us are only fixated on God since over three quarters of the U. S. population believe in a god and religionists constantly keep trying to push the Christian god into government affairs. Also, your “So. Just. Shut. Up.” is one of the most anti-intellectual statements I have come across in months. I still do not understand why you are such an ardent religionist even though you seem to be a friend of Biblical minimalists (almost all of whom are atheists).

    • separation of church and state means the STATE has no right to interfere in the CHURCH. second, you obviously have never had any in depth discussion with ‘minimalists’ as you would know, if you had, that they self identify, almost to a man, as agnostics, not atheists.
and finally, if you’re – or rather since you’re – cowering behind the shield of anonymity i dont really think you have any right to talk about supposed anti-intellectualism i since there’s nothing more anti-intellectual than an unwillingness to own one’s words.

  2. I thought you usually deleted anonymous posts? mind you it is good to keep this one. Neo-atheist really make me laugh, being offended by something they don’t believe in. I’m never offended when the local masonic lodge parade Santa around the streets handing out chocolates to children. Angry atheist are as logical as their saying “There is no God, and I hate Him”.
