When America ‘Liberated’ Iraq, It Undermined and Contributed to the Destruction of Iraqi Christianity

The forgotten casualty of the Iraq war- Christianity.  What’s been happening, and is happening, to the Christians in that ravaged land is despicable and America opened the floodgates making it possible.  There’s no getting around it.

In recent years, a horrifying number of kidnappings, rapes and mutilations of Iraqi Christian girls has been perpetrated by Muslim gangs. Some 700,000 Christians are fleeing this terror, but often find themselves exposed to similar dangers when they arrive in neighboring Muslim countries. With no rights and no help from authorities, they are surely in the most desperate of situations.

And the same is beginning to happen in yet another ‘Muslim democracy’ the United States is underwriting with taxpayer money, Egypt.

    • my bias is against war but look at the facts- before the invasion, christians were unmolested. after, they have become targets and a great exodus has taken place- with scant reporting. how would you explain that? or are you suggesting that christians are more secure now, because that would just be willful blindness to what’s going on there.

  1. The same type of argument can be made for the old Soviet Union, before the Eastern block and wall came down. No, the fact is that with democracy comes the same need for law and order, that the country (Iraq) had somewhat under the heavy hand of Sadam. But with the major elements of Islam, and even more radical forms somewhat, Christianity has now less protection there. We can note Egypt here also, since their so-called democracy, Christianity and Christian freedom have diminished. So it is a question of Muslims and Islam, and if they can really co-exist with Christianity, and Christians.
