  2. W.F. Buckley Jr had two of my favourite responses: 1) “I would like to take you seriously, but to do so would affront your intelligence”, and 2) “I won’t insult your intelligence by suggesting that you believe what you just said.” I think Eberhard’s, however, takes the cake.
