An evangelist who kicks followers in the face, claiming his violence will cure them of cancer, is to tour Britain this month – but his proposed visit has provoked outrage and demands that he be banned from entering the country.
Tattooed preacher Todd Bentley, who as a 15-year-old was convicted of a sex attack on a boy aged seven, claims God uses him as an instrument to heal the sick, and is urging the frail to attend his shows.
The former drug user, who is Canadian but based in the United States, even laughs about his ‘healing’ techniques. In one show he treated a man claiming to be suffering from colon cancer by planting his knee hard into the victim’s stomach. The man fell to the floor in agony.
On another occasion, a man was pushed over so forcefully that he lost a tooth.
Burly Mr Bentley, 36, said in one YouTube clip: ‘And I’m thinking why is the power of God not moving? And He said, “Because you haven’t kicked that woman in the face.”
This heretic isn’t a Christian. He’s a pedophile, a drug addict, and a deceiver. He is the enfleshment of everything that’s wrong with pentebabbleism. If he comes back to the States he should be refused entry and sent to Canada where he belongs. Let the people there suffer him.
The former convict colony, well known for welcoming all no matter how out of whack, has its limits. For instance Australia won’t welcome the Canadian heretic pentebabbleist Todd Bentley. As Joel what’s his name notes
Todd Bentley has been denied a visa for entry into Australia by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. A message on the Fresh Fire USA website states:
The Australian Tour is currently on hold until further Notice. Australian Immigration has denied Todd entry into the country at this time. We are however doing everything we can to get an answer for the denied entry. We have sent all the required documents and are awaiting approval from Australian Immigration to be allowed to come to Australia and Minister. Please continue to stand with us as we are not giving up. …
To gain a visa for entry to Australia there is a character test, which could be the problem for Bentley as he has been in prison for more than 12 months and been convicted of sexual assault.
The Canadian reprobate false teacher/deceiver isn’t wanted in the land down under. He should remain in Canada. They deserve him.

This guy makes Rick Warren look like an actual theologian and Todd Bentley like an actual Christian. Scott cogently observes
We’ve learned a few things about Mark Driscoll over the last couple of years: he’s a bully; a fake tough-guy; a demon-worshiper; incredibly non-discerning; a terrible scholar, and a delusional pervert. Now it seems that he is adopting the theology of Westboro Baptist Church.
Read how further in Scott’s post. Driscoll really is America’s worst. Why does anyone attend his ‘church’? He must really tickle their ears – or they’re just as ignorant and theologically incapable as he is. Probably both.
Step by step:
1- Lie to people and tell them you’re a Christian.
2- Convince gullible old women to mortgage their homes and donate the money to your ‘ministry’.
3- Surround yourself with ‘christians’ who know less about the bible, church history, and theology than you do.
4- Adopt shady and manipulative strategies to ‘grow’ your ‘church’.
5- Do something extremely bizarre to garner public attention, like have live animals in the service or cancel worship for the Super Bowl or Christmas or have a ‘rasslin’ match on the altar. Anything at all that has absolutely nothing to do with Christianity will work here.
6- Toss out the Bible and start talking about the Spirit’s speaking to you directly and without the medium of Scripture.
7- Insist on your congregation’s unswerving and unquestioning allegiance.
If you follow those 7 steps, you will have a mega ‘church’. There are no mega-churches outside of these 7 steps.
Scott has attempted several times to point out the intellectual dishonesty of Peter Kirk and here he does so again, with sufficient vigor, one would hope, to show any fair minded and honest person that Kirk is simply a dilettante of the first order when it comes to theology. Kirk is incapable of rational argument and incessantly retreats behind a veil of threats of suing people whenever he is called to give a reason as to why he so loves the heretic and false teacher Todd Bentley.
Kirk loves Bentley because, like Bentley, he doesn’t know the Bible, doesn’t know Church History, doesn’t know theology, and doesn’t know sanity or the Holy Spirit.
At the end of the day, deceived people follow deceivers because they wish to be deceived. Kirk follows Bentley, defends Bentley, and will always do so no matter how clearly Scott, or anyone else, proves to him the error of his ways, because he loves being a Montanist, a heretic.
Peter is, it has to be admitted by all who know him, invincibly ignorant. Invincibly. And he likes it that way.
Deceiver, Liar, and Heretic
Scott’s post is great. It proves to any reasonable person that Todd Bentley is a heretic. So how is it, then, that Peter Kirk (of ‘Gentle Wisdom’ infamy) continues to support Bentley?
Or put another way, and more broadly, how can anyone, anywhere, who denominates him or her self as a Christian, stand behind a self evident liar and deceiver? Every word of support which Kirk and others offer Bentley are words supporting evil.
So will PK denounce Bentley as must be done by all honest Christian theologians, or will he hum, haw, and equivocate thus demonstrating himself to be a heretic of equal degree to Bentley?
We shall, I suppose, see soon enough.
And updated with the latest Bachmann-isms. Wikiality strikes again:
Earlier today, Paddy posted a video of Michele Bachmann defending her utterly and stupidly erroneous Founding Father remarks. Yes, she actually stood her wobbly ground, which is a little like trying to walk on quicksand. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t put it past her to try that, too. Since she made the original “balloon head” Founding-Fathers-ended-slavery statements, and presented today’s “John Quincy Adams was a Founding Father” defense, a lot of people have been joking about whether or not some right wing nut job would scurry over to John Quincy Adams’ Wiki page and alter it to accommodate their misinformed spokesperson-turned-presidential contender.
Yes, do consult wikipedia. It’s so reliable! And while you’re at it get all your archaeological information from Simcha and all your biblical exegesis from Todd Bentley.

Odd bit here–
The tiny southern French hamlet of Bugarach has drawn scrutiny from a government sect watchdog over droves of visitors who believe it is the only place in the world that will survive a 2012 Apocalypse. A report by the watchdog, Miviludes, published on Wednesday said the picturesque village near Carcassonne should be monitored in the run-up to December 21, 2012, when many believe the world will end according to an ancient Mayan prophecy.
Well that’s just as dumb as the ‘rapture’ that didn’t happen last month. But of course new age folk unfamiliar with the bible are prone to fall for gross stupidity.
Miviludes was set up in 2002 to track the activity of sects, after a law passed the previous year made it an offence to abuse vulnerable people using heavy pressure techniques, meaning sects can be outlawed if there is evidence of fraud or abuse.
I wish we had that law here. We would be completely free of Creflo Dollar and Todd Bentley and all the other deceivers and heretics and Montanists.
Surrounded in legend for centuries, Bugarach and its rocky outcrop, the Pic de Bugarach, have attracted an influx of New Age visitors in recent months, pushing up property prices but also raising the threat of financial scams and psychological manipulation, Miviludes said in its report.
Scams- that’s what it’s all about.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, of God is going on with this guy. He is a deceiver and a liar. His followers must either be blind or delusional.
Pentecostals, it’s high time you people stood up and called this guy what he so self evidently is- a rank and vile heretic. How you can allow him to troddle on unopposed is just beyond me. He actually makes the Montanists look orthodox.
