They can’t even tell Melanchthon and Beza apart… dullards. (Photo by a friend. I don’t visit wikipedia because, well, it’s stupid).
Trump is no ‘god’ and he can’t save you or himself or so much as a tick, you idolatrous blasphemous fools.
He really should just stop writing. Anything. Throckmorton has it spot on when he concludes his discussion of Metaxas’ new book-
May God help us not to create myths and instead tell the whole story.
Metaxas has proven, again, that he’s incapable of doing anything BUT construct myth. It’s what he does with every subject he touches.
A bill aimed at saving the lives of Tennessee children has hit a snag in the Tennessee legislature. Lawmakers in a Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday postponed vote on McKayla’s Law, or Senate Bill 2294. McKayla’s Law was named after McKayla Dyer, the 8-year-old girl who was tragically shot and killed by an 11-year-old boy in East Tennessee. It would make it a criminal offense to recklessly leave a firearm readily accessible to a child under the age of 13.
And it has bipartisan support! But, alas, our feckless legislators are such cowards that it only takes one spokeswoman for the NRA to derail a widely supported bill…
At the Judiciary Committee Tuesday, NRA lobbyist Erin Luper said gun safety education is important but that it’s not the state’s place to force proper gun storage. “We do take the position that it is the gun owner’s responsibility to seek education, information and training on how to safely store a firearm, and not the state’s position to require the firearm owner to do so,” said Luper. The NRA’s lobbying arm wields great power at state capitols across the country, including Tennessee. After that testimony, McKayla’s Law was quickly deferred for at least two weeks. The measure could be discussed again on March 15.
Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. What cowards.
Because he was annoyed that he had to get up for school…
An argument over getting out of bed for school Tuesday morning led a teenage boy to open fire on four family members, including his grandmother and two young children, in an East Nashville home, Metro police said. Nashville police spokeswoman Kris Mumford said that shortly before 7:17 a.m. a relative was attempting to wake up the 16-year-old boy inside his home at Berkshire Place Apartments on Porter Road when an argument broke out.
“There was a quarrel about getting up and getting ready for the day when (at some point) the 16-year-old ran to a closet, got a 9 mm handgun and started firing,” Mumford said. Bullets struck the teen’s 67-year-old grandmother twice, and his 12-year-old sister and 6-year-old nephew were both grazed by gunfire. The teen’s nephew is his older sister’s son, Mumford said. The teen also tried to shoot his 42-year-old mother in the living room of the home, but Mumford said the woman ducked behind a couch and avoided being hit.
Granny should have had a gun so she could have blown his head off and defended the clan, right NRA? Every home needs 15 or 20 guns, right Congress? In fact, let’s just get everyone a gun and toss them in the street any time they get annoyed so they can blow each other’s brains out. #America.
But I just find these sorts of historical and theological distortions* not only silly, but really silly. Their entire purpose is to enrage and offend. But what they really do is mislead and mock.
He’s a self aggrandizing power mad ill-mannered poor excuse for a University President.
The president of Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland on Monday fired two faculty members without any faculty review of his action or advance notice. One was a tenured professor who had recently criticized some of the president’s policies. The other was the adviser to the student newspaper that revealed the president recently told faculty members concerned about his retention plans that they needed to change the way they view struggling students. “This is hard for you because you think of the students as cuddly bunnies, but you can’t. You just have to drown the bunnies … put a Glock to their heads,” the president said.
Many believe a third faculty member may also be fired, as he also has criticized the president’s policies. Administrators were seen trying to find that faculty member today for an urgent meeting, which is how the two who were fired were dismissed. It is unclear whether they were able to locate the third faculty member.
Monday’s firings follow the dismissal on Friday of Provost David Rehm, who also raised questions about President Simon Newman’s retention plans. (Rehm held on to his faculty position.)
Newman’s letter firing the tenured professor — Thane M. Naberhaus of the philosophy department — accused him of disloyalty.
Newman is the disloyal one. Disloyal to proper procedures and academic integrity. Mount St Mary’s needs to jettison the albatross. By what right has he done such things? The Trustees need to man up and fire this person. Today.
Ooohhhh… the MOST DANGEROUS year in the 2nd Amendment’s history! I bet it’s wetting itself right now in dread anticipation! Thank goodness the NRA stands up for it…. and stands to make a buck with every shooting.
It’s been a good while since I’ve seen this sort of dilettantish ignorance on display but here it shines brightly in the stupidity and imbecilidity of one Sarah Silverman, actress:
Her claim is made without so much as a sliver of evidence. And yet, the buffoons in Hollywood (aka land of the biblically ignorant and uninformed) fete her and heap approval.
She, and they, are why dilettantes who pretend to be other people for a living and those who film them should never, ever talk about the bible or theology.
Since, though, they do love awards, here’s the most deserved award Silverman will ever receive:
That’s as lame as being an atheist faith healer or faith healer turned atheist because said healer is terrible at faith. Such ignorance has a name. It is ‘man as the measure of all things’ and nothing is as dumb as that. Nothing is as feckless and senseless as exalting a worm to universal standard.
These persons are simply unwilling to find another job and instead just want to live off of that which they despise. Is there anything more selfish than a person who doesn’t believe in God making their living from that belief? Hypocrites.
