The Cops in Buffalo All Think Shoving an Old Man Down Is Acceptable

05 Jun

That’s why all 57 of their Brownshirt shock troops resigned in protest of the suspension of two of them.

An entire unit of the Buffalo Police Department resigned from their assignments Friday after two officers were suspended amid outcry over video showing officers shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground, according to the Buffalo News and other media outlets.

All 57 of the members of the department’s Emergency Response Team resigned from the unit, which responds to riots and other crowd control situations, according to the outlets. The Emergency Response Team members have not quit the police department, but have stepped down from the tactical unit, the Buffalo News reported.

“Our position is these officers were simply following orders from Deputy Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia to clear the square,” said Buffalo Police Benevolent Association President John Evans. “It doesn’t specify clear the square of men, 50 and under or 15 to 40. They were simply doing their job. I don’t know how much contact was made. He did slip in my estimation. He fell backwards.”

They aren’t resigning because they are honorable and are protesting the tactics of the squad, they are resigning because they object to two of their own being held accountable.

If you were a cop would you do any better? Poor pay, terrible hours, dealing on a daily basis with the worst things that people do to other people, dealing on a daily basis with people who spit on them, throw objects at them to harm them, and too frequently ending up either injured or dead.
Some come through okay, many end up either hardened – loosing their empathy, or softened – emotional wreaks who drink to excess, “eat their gun”. Divorce the norm.

So pile on the cops, and when they say enough is enough and withdraw their services, the pushing down of an older man who failed to follow police directions will be nothing compared to what other people in “society” will do to each other. And the worst hit areas – black neighbourhoods – with black on black violence.
And everyone will say, why don’t the cops do something out the neighbourhood violence

Then they should quit. If the only satisfaction they get out of the job is beating the hell out of innocent demonstrators they should not be cops in the first place.
