“There will be no bail out for faith-based organizations”

This is factually accurate.  And as much as people dislike talking about giving, offerings, and tithing, it has to be said.

Religious organizations are the nation’s most widespread non-profits. Many are in real danger of closing as a result of the measures taken to fight the virus. H. Richard Niebuhr once said that the collection plate was the best symbol of American faith. Religious leaders need to be prepared to take extraordinary measures to stay afloat, including consolidations, and the use of trust funds, if available. Let’s keep the conversation going about the future. There will be no bail out for faith-based organizations.  — Glenn Miller, Professor of Church History.
