The Average Church in America Has 65 Members

And if they have no services for a month, they will never recover.

Furthermore, Church members are not known for their financial support of churches. 90% never tithe. Most churches are financially supported by 10% of their members.

I remind you of this to encourage you to pray for all the average to small churches across this country that will suffer far beyond the direct impact of any virus.

And while I’m at it let me also remind you that millions of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and hourly workers who will have to remain at home will also suffer far beyond any illness they may endure.

Pray for them all.

To be sure, social distancing and all such related practices will save many lives. And rightly.

But many lives, families, children, and poor will suffer far beyond what our politicians and wealthy business owners and NBA athletes do.

So maybe instead of crowing about your mega-church’s live streamed services, lead your church to send an offering to a small church or a small business so that others make it through this at least better off than they will without your help.
