Ending The Day With Luther

One should draw from the source and diligently read the Bible. For a man who knows the text is also an extraordinary theologian. One passage or one text from the Bible is worth more than the glosses of four writers who aren’t reliable and thorough.   –  Martin Luther

Ok Ladies, STOP IT

Stop falling for the smooth talking ‘good looking’ con man just out for your money….  When a dude looks that attractive you can’t trust his sincerity…

A man accused of being married to four women pleaded guilty Monday to bigamy in New Hampshire, but he will avoid jail time if he behaves for the next five years.

Michael Middleton, 43, married a Georgia woman in 2006, an Alabama woman in 2011 and a New Hampshire woman in 2013. That led to the bigamy charge in New Hampshire, but according to court documents, he also married a fourth woman in Kentucky in 2016.

Prosecutors say he used the marriages to gain access to the women’s assets. In court Monday, Assistant Strafford County Attorney David Rotman read a statement from Middleton’s New Hampshire wife, Alicia Grant, who blamed Middleton for her transformation from a compassionate person to someone with a “not-my-problem” attitude.

Be best ladies, #BeBest….

Too Late Now

A country where 6th graders (11 year olds) plan a murder suicide at school, and a 19 year old presbyterian hates Jews enough to kill them, and the populace elects a racist perverted serial adulterer, cannot be rescued.

It’s too late.

This Is Where America Is Now

Crossville 6th graders charged with plotting school shooting

Two Cumberland County sixth graders are charged with plotting to bring weapons to school to shoot students and faculty on the last day of classes.

The Cumberland County Sherriff’s Office and Crossville Police Department issued a joint release saying a school resource officer at South Cumberland Elementary was alerted to a rumor of a “hit list” containing students to be shot in a future school shooting.

The newly formed Crossville/Cumberland County District Threat Assessment Task Force was contacted and began to investigate.

“Therefore do not pray for this people, or lift up a cry or prayer on their behalf, for I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their trouble.” – Jer 11:14

“Then the LORD said to me, “Do not pray for these people anymore.” – Jer 14:11

Happy G.W. Locher Day

April 29, 1911Gottfried W. Locher was born. His contributions to the field of Reformation studies were so influential that when he was honored with a Festschrift, it took two volumes to house all the essays that were requested. Indeed, in 1992 and 1993 the annual publications of Zwingliana were devoted to this two part Festschrift for Locher.   Volume one is available here and volume two here.   His complete bibliography, which is the last entry of the FS, is here.

The world received a real gift back in 1911. And those interested in the Swiss Reformation not only need to be familiar with his name, they need to be thoroughly acquainted with his work.  Overlooking it would be as big a mistake as overlooking Bultmann’s contributions to New Testament studies and von Rad’s contributions to Old Testament research.
