If Fox News Were a Person, It Would Be Committed To an Asylum

These people are authentically mentally ill.

The Imago Dei, Effaced

A man accused of giving his ailing wife methamphetamine told authorities he threw her a “death party” before she died.  The Mankato Free Press reported that Duane Arden Johnson, 58, of Searles, Minnesota, was charged with criminal neglect and receiving stolen property after his wife’s death on Thursday.

Deputies said Johnson called 911 at about noon to report that his wife, Debra Lynn Johnson, 69, had died. Officers arrived at the couple’s home and found the words “Death Parde God Hell” spray-painted on the front door.  A naked Duane Johnson allegedly ran outside and said his wife was dead, then ran back inside to take a bath. He was later found in the bathtub hallucinating and trying to wash white and black “things” from his skin, according to deputies. Debra Johnson’s body was found wrapped in a sheet the top of the stairs, deputies said.

Hold up, that guy is 58?  He looks 90.  Meth makes you degenerate.  Also, such persons are no longer bearers of the Imago Dei.  In them it is utterly effaced.

In a Contest Between Zwingli Film and Luther Film, Zwingli Wins 8 to 1

Read the whole smack down.

Tobit the Pious

Often I was quite alone in making the pilgrimage to Jerusalem, fulfilling the Law that binds all Israel perpetually. I would hurry to Jerusalem with the first yield of fruits and beasts, the tithe of cattle and the sheep’s first shearings. I would give these to the priests, the sons of Aaron, for the altar. To the Levites ministering at Jerusalem I would give my tithe of wine and corn, olives, pomegranates and other fruits. Six years in succession I took the second tithe in money and went and paid it annually at Jerusalem. I gave the third to orphans and widows and to the strangers who live among the Israelites; I brought it them as a gift every three years. When we ate, we obeyed both the ordinances of the law of Moses and the exhortations of Deborah the mother of our ancestor Ananiel; for my father had died and left me an orphan.  (Tob. 1:6-8)

The Governor Of Virginia Endorses Infanticide

And that’s what it is.  It isn’t late term abortion, it is the murder of the newborn.

Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam is facing backlash after he voiced his support for a state measure that would significantly loosen restrictions on late-term abortions.

“[Third trimester abortions are] done in cases where there may be severe deformities. There may be a fetus that’s nonviable. So in this particular example, if a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen,” Northam, a pediatric neurosurgeon, told Washington radio station WTOP. “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired. And then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

The bill — which among other things would end a state rule that requires at least three physicians confirm “that a third trimester abortion is necessary to prevent the woman’s death or impairment of her mental or physical health” and ends “the need to find that any such impairment to the woman’s health would be substantial and irremediable” — is currently tabled in Virginia’s legislature.

Quote of the Decade: On Abused Wives and Divorce

With many, many thanks to Mike Bird for posting this on his blog-

If a man is cruel to his wife and displays excessive harshness of word and of deed toward her … and if he refuses to abandon his cruelty… Then he must be considered his wife’s mortal enemy and a threat to her life … In her peril, recourse must be made to the remedy of divorce, no less than if her life had been openly attacked… it is our will that parties set free in this manner may contract a new marriage, while those convicted of the said crimes be punished either by perpetual exile or imprisonment for life. – Thomas Cranmer

Quote of the Day

“The only ground of God’s love is his love. The ground of God’s love is only and wholly in himself. There is neither portion nor proportion in us to draw his love. There is no love nor loveliness in us that should cause a beam of his love to shine upon us.” — Thomas Brooks

What Do They Know That We Don’t?

Civilized countries have 3 things America doesn’t:

  • universal health care
  • very little gun violence
  • parliamentary systems of government.

What do they know that we don’t? Besides how to govern.

The ‘Zwingli Film’ in the News- Groebner Bats 0-3

This response to Groebner’s critique of the film is the third of three and though she agrees with Groebner on a few things she still finds the film good.

Zwingli film 3, Groebner 0.
