The Unitarian Universalist ‘Church’ in Oak Ridge

Is advertising, on its sign, their 11:15 a.m. Sunday morning ‘service’.  It’s a yoga class.  No kidding.  A yoga class.  Why do they even perpetuate the pretense of being a Church.  Why don’t they just honestly admit that they’re a social club with no ties at all to authentic Christian faith.

In case you haven’t noticed, UU isn’t a Christian denomination, and doesn’t pretend to be one. There are congregations that are definitely Christian, and congregations that won’t have anything to do with Christians. The congregation I’m leaving (I’m moving across country) is standing up a Christian fellowship for the relatively few Christians in the congregation.

As far as advertising a Yoga class as an actual religious service? I think someone there has lost track of the plot.

There is one in Tulsa called All Souls Unitarian, or something similar. I was asked by a gentleman “are they Christian?” (I checked my answer and it matches). My answer was “Christians are TRINITARIAN; anything UNITARIAN you can beforehand, without much brainy exercise, conclude it is not Christian.
