He has lied, and lied, and lied, and yet he still fleeces the sheep and none of them hold him accountable. Pentebabbleists… always unmoored from Scripture and reaping the consequences in unhinged falsehoods.
End Times prepper pastor Jim Bakker warned on his television program last week that God had told him that the time is rapidly approaching when Christian leaders in America will be murdered by left-wing activists.
Bakker was discussing the chaos and controversy surrounding a movie about Roe v. Wade that is being made by and stars right-wing activists—including cameos by Milo Yiannopoulos and Tomi Lahren—when he was prompted to issue this dire warning.
“They don’t want the truth to come out and here in America, we don’t have the freedom to produce a movie that tells the other side,” Bakker bellowed. “People, you don’t understand where we are.I’ve been hesitating to tell you what’s going to come next—one of the things—but they’re going to begin to kill the Christian leaders in this country. I don’t want to say it—I’ve known it for many, many years—but I knew it would come and I believe God has told me that it’s going to happen very, very soon.”
God didn’t tell him anything. God never has told him anything. Every claim he makes to that effect is a lie.
One day I hope people ‘like’ God as much as they ‘like’ things on facebook and they ‘retweet’ (repeat) scripture as much as they ‘retweet’ twitterings. On that day the world will be changed.
The (insert fancy word for a meeting that takes place only every four years) Calvin Congress meets at Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia. The papers look like they’ll be super. Come along and join in the fun. And if you’re in the area I’d love to say hi and grab a coffee.
Jerusalem: DP – Archaeologist Rob Farfella today announced at a packed press conference that he and his team of international archaeologists working for the Bradbury Archaological Referendum have discovered a parchment in Jerusalem that may indeed be ancient and may contain a series of laws that may date to the 10th century BCE and which may show that maybe some of the laws in the Hebrew Bible may be related potentially to laws that may have originated in Egypt or maybe Babylonia.
Farfella went on to describe the location of the artifact’s extraction as maybe a controlled dig or maybe a shop in Jerusalem’s Old City. Photos of the artifact may be forthcoming, possibly and potentially, if the IAA gives the discoverers permission potentially.
Fortunately a photo of the image has been leaked by the excavation team:
The excavation team has dubbed this potentially important manuscript ‘Codex Farfellensis Imbecilicus’.
Reports from other sources indicate that there may be nothing at all to the claims being made in today’s presser by Farfella and BAR. ‘Skepticism is always appropriate when it comes to the announcements of the importance of such trinkets’ said Cindy Tubors of Harvard U.
Other scholars may weigh in, maybe, said Tubors as she wandered off from the press conference to imbibe at the local tavern and lament the death of archaeological seriousness.
Whenever ‘Christians’ tell you that you should be quiet and not denounce evil you know that they are motivated by evil itself and by no means should you listen to them.
Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. (Ps. 83:1-2)
We cannot ask God to act if we are timid and fearful and afraid to speak out.
On the twitter. With this hashtag- #sbleabs18. Some really interesting tweets so far.
In catabaptistarum strophas elenchus was published by Zwingli on 31 July, 1527 and was translated into English in the early 20th century by S.M. Jackson and published in a very lovely little edition which, fortunately, is now in the public domain and accessible here in pdf (Chapter 5).
You’ll enjoy it. In fact, you’ll enjoy all of the books in the collection.
One of the most engaging books on Zwingli was written by the eminent, no, the pre-eminent scholar of Zwingli, Johann Melchior Schuler titled Huldreich Zwingli: Geschichte seiner Bildung zum Reformator des Vaterlandes and published January 1, 1818, on Zwingli’s birth anniversary. You can get it free from Google books. So do.
It’s got some great artwork, including this drawing of Zwingli’s home in Wildhaus, where he was born:
Fans of celebrities barely bat an eye anymore at the drunken antics of superstars. Instead the public displays of carnality of the rich and famous are celebrated. Smiled at. Wink wink. Are we seeing this same blasé attitude in the visible Church?
Celebrity Pastor Carl Lentz, who pastors Hillsong NYC and megastar Justin Bieber, a close friend whom Lentz personally shepherds, were photographed partying in a tavern. The world is now seeing the fallout of the spectacle, in which the two slammed back shots. The pictures show Lentz smiling as Bieber began removing his clothes at Blue Door Bar in Queenstown, New Zealand.
The singer started out his night fully clothed like any other patron, then stripped off his camouflage jacket and white singlet which saw some unstoppable smiles from the two female bartenders serving him. Shots and cocktails were on the menu for the US singer and his mate, Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz.
If you admire this, there’s something a bit tragic about you and your ‘faith’.
