Those Large Churches Are Stunting Your Spiritual Growth

Get yourself to a Church where you know everyone and everyone knows you.  Michael Svigel is right to write

Your spiritual growth is stunted in a church where you can indefinitely hide from other members.

It’s a fact.  And it’s also a fact that one of the reasons many people attend churches that are large is because doing so allows them to hide in plain sight.  They can pretend to be good Christians attending church but in fact they are hiding from Church, from the community of faith, in a place where there are so many people you can meet a stranger every week.

If you really, truly wish to grow as a Christian, as a disciple, get out of that big church and go to a Church where everyone knows who you are, and holds you accountable for your authentic discipleship.

One Response to Those Large Churches Are Stunting Your Spiritual Growth

  1. I came out of the larger church movement and have planted a church that is striving to be the authentic community of which you speak. There is such a tremendous need for this.
