Police: Florida pastor caught with man’s wife, flees naked
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A police report says a prominent Florida pastor was forced to run out of a house naked after a woman’s husband came home to find him having sex with his wife. The Tallahassee Democrat reports (http://on.tdo.com/2kmThSX ) police documents show a woman’s husband found her in bed with Pastor O. Jermaine Simmons in the middle of the afternoon on Jan. 17. The woman told police that her husband yelled that he was going to kill Simmons, who fled the apartment naked and hid behind a nearby fence. The husband took the pastor’s clothes, wallet and car keys and later agreed to return the items following negotiations with police. Video posted online shows Simmons asking for forgiveness from his congregation at Tallahassee’s Jacob Chapel, saying “you cannot defend sin.”
Connecticut pastor charged with stealing $8K in electricity
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ The pastor of a Connecticut church has been charged with stealing about $8,000 worth of electricity. The Connecticut Post (http://bit.ly/2k3gYik ) reports that Bishop William Marshall, pastor of City of Life Worship and Deliverance Center in Bridgeport, was charged with third-degree larceny. Marshall, who was released on a promise to appear in court, did not return calls for comment. Authorities say investigators for United Illuminating Co. had checked a meter at a building where Marshall was operating a barbershop in October. Police say even though power to the barbershop had been disconnected in 2013 for failure to pay a $4,000 bill, it appeared that electricity was still being delivered. Investigators say the meter had been illegally reconnected, powering the barbershop but not registering the service on the meter.
