How Israel Misuses the Bible

By fuming over a U.N. resolution against Israel’s settlements on Palestinian land, Israeli leaders reveal their final solution for the Palestinians – to deny them property rights and displace them, says moral theologian Daniel C. Maguire.

Etc.  Which do enjoy.

Whatever you think about Israel’s settlement, it is tasteless to attribute to Israel plans for a “final solution” (Endlösung) for the Palestinians. The Nazi atrocities are, fortunately, without parallel and likening Israel’s policy to them comes close to trivialising those horrors.

it’s hard to describe the settlements and their stated goals another way, isn’t it? plus, the hyberbolic language may be the only way to penetrate the indifference of the west to the plight of the palestinians. talking to israel in nice terms doesn’t work.

I understand the need to use hyperboles, but no, personally I would never use “Endlösung”. Israel does not build gas chambers.
