What Does ‘Christian’ Even Mean Anymore?

Not what it used to, that’s for sure.  Not when it’s used by persons who the Church throughout it’s history would never recognize as Christian at all.

A Christian mommy blogger has announced she is dating retired soccer star Abby Wambach.  Glennon Doyle Melton posted a smiling picture of herself and Wambach on Sunday, with the caption: ‘Oh my God, she is so good to me. She loves me for all the things I’ve always wanted to be loved for. She’s just my favorite. My person.’ Both are newly single. Wambach, who lost her sponsors after a DUI last April, is currently in the process of divorcing fellow soccer star, and wife of three years, Sarah Huffman. While Melton announced her divorce from Craig Melton, her husband of 14 years, in August.

‘Christian mommy blogger’?  What is that supposed to mean?

I don’t get it. Do Christians have to be perfect to be Christian? I thought the whole point of Lutheran Christianity was that Jesus’s death atones.

I know before Luther, the Tours of Hell all show Christians writhing among the flames there, but I thought after Luther all that ended.

no they don’t and they aren’t. but certain behaviors have been seen by the church throughout its history as contrary to christian faith. christianity has certain ‘markers’ just like judaism does. when those markers are absent, so is, historically, christian faith.

What a crazy twisted world it is. Another example of the problem of pseudo-Christian celebrities and internet personalities who doesn’t study the Bible and also their followers who are not discerning
