Author of the influential book ‘Biblical Exegesis and the Formation of Christian Culture’ and numerous other monographs and papers, Professor Frances Young, emerita Edward Cadbury Professor of Theology at the University of Birmingham, will consider some of the ways in which the early Christians approached the Bible as the key text of their religion. The self-identity of the Christian community and the development of theology all hinge on this formative period in the life of the Church.
