Instead of blinking at them or winking at them or just blowing them off. Read this report of the Munich killer, which includes the following:
On the day of the [Munich] attack, according to the newspaper Bild, Sonboly told associates via a computer game message: “Come to the McDonald’s and I will come and get you and shoot you.” At the time they dismissed it as “hot air” as similar threats had been made before. A teenage girl who lived in the same apartment block said he had told classmates: “I will kill you all.” Four of the teenagers, all friends, killed by Sonboly were named last night as Can Leyla, 14, and his friend Selcuk Kilic, 15, both of Turkish origin, and two girls: Sabina Sulaj and Armela Segashi, both 14. A fifth member of the group was critically injured.
We need to start taking these threats seriously.
A man was arrested on DUI and other charges after he hit several cars and a scooter and kept going with the scooter’s rider on the car hood, police said. According to New Port Richey Police, this happened right after midnight Saturday. Marc Thomas Boysen, 43, was driving west on Main Street towards US 19. He crashed into the rear of a car stopped at the intersection. Boysen kept driving, now going north on the southbound lanes on US 19.
He crashed head on into the scooter and the man driving it landed on the hood of his car, according to the police. The scooter rider was killed instantly. Boysen left the scene, sideswiped another vehicle, and crashed into a parked car at the Winghouse nearby. The scooter rider on the hood was thrown off on impact. The bystanders at the Winghouse extracted Boysen from the car and held him until police arrived. He is being charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving a Death, Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage, DUI Property Damage and Felony DUI.
Doubtless we will shortly discover that he has been arrested numerous times for DUI. And now someone is dead because our society winks at murderous alcoholics and doesn’t often enough hold them accountable for the havoc they wreak. So who is worse, the murderer, or the enablers of the murderers?
Let’s all remember… no one has ever sent an email they wanted kept private…
“We shall never lack those who persecute Christ in us, even though they proudly attack us in the name of Christ. Is this not the fire that proves the character of each man’s work, whether he goes into battle for the honour of this world or of Christ?… I believe that the Church, as it was brought forth in blood, so can be restored by blood and in no other way.” — Zwingli
As they travelled along they met a man on the road who said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’ Jesus answered, ‘Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.’ Another to whom he said, ‘Follow me,’ replied, ‘Let me go and bury my father first.’ But he answered, ‘Leave the dead to bury their dead; your duty is to go and spread the news of the kingdom of God.’ Another said, ‘I will follow you, sir, but first let me go and say good — bye to my people at home.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Once the hand is laid on the plough, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.’ (Lk. 9:57-62)
If you aren’t prepared to leave everything behind, you aren’t willing to be a disciple.
