The Most Hated Word in Rome? ‘Reformation’

In Rome the word ‘reformation’ is hated more than thunder in the heavens or the last judgment. It’s as a cardinal said, ‘Let them eat and drink both kinds, etc. What’s that to us? But if they wish to reform us we’ll fight.’ — Martin Luther

Wouldn’t Luther be surprised by Rome’s love of him, and ‘Reformation’, on the cusp of the 500th Anniversary of Luther’s reforming efforts.
