Total Depravity: The Meth Dealers Who Gave it to Kids

Two Hawkins County men were arrested Saturday and charged with providing methamphetamine to three juveniles, two of which were only 14 years old.

Michael James Caldwell, 24, is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and criminal trespassing. Kyle Thomas Dishner, 21, is charged with delivery of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office says it was sent to a home on Richards Road Saturday for a call about a trespasser at a home that had been empty for years. The property owner noticed a vehicle and called law enforcement.

A deputy found Caldwell who said he was homeless and had been staying at the home, without permission, for five weeks. The deputy found a one-pot meth lab outside the house, which deputies say Caldwell admitting to knowing about.

Deputies then found Dishner, a 17-year-old boy and two 14-year-old girls inside the house, as well as around one gram of methamphetamine packaged in six individual bags. They also found numerous other empty gram-size bags.

Are there people worse than those who supply kids with drugs?
