As they are sometimes inclined to do, as, for instance, when a Christian (shockingly) doesn’t measure up to God’s lofty standards. Atheists enjoy at that point grabbing the Bible and blabbering on how it says that such and such a deed or act is against God’s word.
What the silly things apparently don’t understand is that when they cite the Bible and attempt to apply it to life they are admitting its authority.
This means that for them it is either authoritative (in which case their atheism is a sham and a farce) or their minds or so weak that they cannot grasp the fact that citation advances authority.
Whatever the case, the next time an atheist quotes scripture to you, do feel free to thank them for admitting that it is authoritative. And then ask them why they deny its authority for their lives and apply it to yours. That is, after all, the classic definition of hypocrisy.
