Sad News: the death of François Bovon

@cclivaz tweets –

New Testament has lost one of its major figures: François Bovon (prof. em. Harvard) has joined the Father.

May he rest in peace. What a scholar he was.

  1. So sorry to hear of the passing of François Bovon; he was a great scholar and a generous colleague, continuing to support emerging scholars on both sides of the Atlantic even in his retirement. His thoughtful, dignified presence will be missed indeed; I am grateful for his life and many contributions.

  2. I am deeply saddened at the death of a great New Testament scholar Professor Francois Bovon of Harvard Divinity School. He was an excellent scholar who encouraged and supported his students, demonstrated God’s compassion, and continued to mentor former students, inviting us to have a meal with him every SBL/AAR! He was my teacher, academic and dissertation advisor, supporter, and friend. He will be dearly missed in this world. Rest in peace!
