‘The New Perspective on Paul’: An Observation

St Paul

Paul is tired of you calling something new that isn’t.

Dear people,  it’s time to stop talking about the ‘new’ perspective on Paul.  It ISN’T anymore.  #CorrectTerminolgyMatters #sblaar

The Incorrect Perspective is much better, yes.

That’s the trouble with all those movements which have a “New” in the title. The newness very quickly loses its shine. For example, we still have to talk about the “New Criticism” of the 1930s-1940s, even though it’s rather old hat now. And New Criticism is even old in Biblical Studies, these days, having been picked up in the 1970s as “Literary Criticism” or “close reading”.
