NetGalley

I didn’t know about this website till today but it seems that if you sign up you can browse publishers and request pdf’s of galley proofs! That’s right, you can get galley proofs of books you’d like to review- and there are dozens and dozens of participating publishers.

NetGalley delivers secure, digital galleys to professional readers. If you are a reviewer, blogger, journalist, librarian, bookseller, educator, or in the media, you can use NetGalley for FREE to read and request titles before they are published.

As I said, you can download PDF’s or you can even read them on various ebook devices. Of course just because you can ask to review something doesn’t mean you’ll be allowed to. There are criteria and each publisher establishes their own.

But if you’re the sort that finds reading and reviewing books before anyone else gets hold of them, it might just be right up your alley.  I’m adding a link to the sidebar under ‘publishers’ because Baker Academic has already sent along approval to read a forthcoming tome.
