Having an Affair with your Cousin Will Get you on Springer…

Especially if you’re a Priest (for Pete’s sake!!!!).

A Catholic TV priest has taken a leave of absence after admitting to a sexual affair with his second cousin.  According to the San Bernadino Sun, which first reported the relationship, Michael Manning, 70, will be leaving Wordnet, the worldwide television ministry he founded in San Bernadino in 1978, to reflect on his relationship with Monterey Schools Superintendent Nancy Kotowski.   Manning, who claims to no longer have a sexual relationship with his cousin, said he has sought and received forgiveness from God. “That’s the neat thing with Jesus. There can be the chance of starting again,” Manning said in an interview with the Sun.

Ewwwwww…..  How’s it even happen?  ‘Hey, you’re hot.’  ‘Wow, I’ve always thought that about you too, Father Cousin’ …  Gross.

Yeah sexual sin is “neat”? Let’s ask King David! God will forgive, but you/we will never be the same again!

Although this relationship was conducted in an unethical way, there is nothing wrong or illegal with marrying your second cousin. Abraham did worse than that and I don’t see the Scriptures condemning him.

They weren’t married, and he was supposed to be a celibate RC priest? Just a wee bit of difference!

Irishanglican, no kidding. I am still trying to figure out what the gross part is. I already said it was unethical……but I am not sure what you are reading.

I think it is immoral that he is having sex outside of marriage, but if he was married to his second cousin? No, I do not think that is gross, immoral or illegal. Do you think it is gross what Abraham did with his half sister?

um, yes. gross. but of course abraham isnt subject to modern morals.
