Israel’s Engagement in Ethnic Cleansing

Israel’s expansion of settlements in East Jerusalem and eviction of Palestinians from their homes there is a form of ethnic cleansing, a United Nations investigator said on Monday.  United States academic Richard Falk was speaking to the UN Human Rights Council as it prepared to pass resolutions condemning settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.  The “continued pattern of settlement expansion in East Jerusalem combined with the forcible eviction of long-residing Palestinians are creating an intolerable situation” in the part of the city previously controlled by Jordan, he said.  This situation “can only be described in its cumulative impact as a form of ethnic cleansing,” Falk declared.

So reports Ha’aretz.  This will not make the Christian-Zionists happy at all.  And unsurprisingly

Israel declines to deal with Falk or even allow him into the country, accusing him of being biased.

Don’t worry though, C-Z’s of America, the United States isn’t as concerned with the well being of the Palestinians as it is the Libyans, or the Afghans, or the Iraqis, so there’s no fear that the US will send fighters to set up a protective barrier for the Palestinians.  Not to mention the fact that the Palestinians aren’t sitting on any oil reserves…

But how long will it be before Falk is called anti-semitic?  Because you have to be an anti-semite to disagree with modern Israeli political policy… or at least that’s what that sort believes…

[The Palestinians deserve to live in peace and freedom without Israeli interference.  How long will the world piddle while they are slowly exterminated and displaced?]
