What Happened to WordPress Today?

I wrote to ask.  Here’s their swift answer-

WordPress.com is currently slowed by a powerful DDoS attack. Your site and dashboard may load slowly or sporadically for the time being. We are also switching WordPress.com to a read-only mode when necessary to combat the attack. When WordPress.com is in read-only mode, you will notice a warning in your dashboard and you will be unable to post anything new during that time.

I wonder why anyone would attack wordpress, unless it’s an angry Mennonite wanting to disrupt all blogging life outside blogger.

Fascinating too is the swiftness with which WP responded to my query. It was 10 minutes. When I used blogger, they never responded to email. Never. WordPress rocks. Blogger blows.

That’s crazy because I was wondering the same thing. I’m glad WordPress acted swiftly.
