Walking and Texting and Not Paying Attention, Oh My!

This woman

Angry that people are chuckling at her for plunging into a fountain, is looking into suing the Mall… What absurdity. Sure, it’s not nice to laugh at someone who falls and potentially is injured- but let’s face facts:

1) she wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing.

2) she fell. Happens every day.

3) she wasn’t at all injured in any respect (except perhaps her pride- but that’s her own fault for being inattentive).

4) get over it.

Suing the Mall for her own stupidity (and yes, it’s as stupid to be unobservant of your surroundings when you’re walking as it is when you’re driving) – that deserves mockery.

Marrero can see the humor, but said when she learned of the video, she asked why mall security was laughing at her instead of helping. “How unprofessional mall security was as to not send anybody to see how I was,” said Marrero. “I could have been really hurt. Sometimes there’s no water in that fountain.” Marrero has hired a lawyer. Attorney James Polyak told 69 News he is investigating the possibility of a lawsuit against the responsible parties. Ed Tennyson, vice president of operations for Allied Properties, the company that owns the Berkshire Mall, said the posting of the surveillance video is still under investigation by the company.

Why was she in need of assistance? She bounced right back up. I’m sure if she had laid in the water a lot of people would have rushed to help.

People… they do stupid things and then want money for it.

agreed. but, since the closed-circuit security video was released to the public, she’ll make a claim and could see some cash.

the best defense (in addition to what you said above) is that there is no way in the world to know who the person in the video is unless she makes it known to the world!

her pride was so damaged, and her longing for cash is so desperate, she told the world it was her so she could pursue damages.
