Robert Eisenman on the ‘Authenticity’ of the James Ossuary

Robert has a right good essay at the Huffington Post on the ossuary and it’s appearance at a very convenient time.  Maybe too convenient…  There are so many good bits and the entire piece is so tightly woven that extracting excerpts would, in this case, be most unhelpful.  Go read it for yourself.

“I have always insisted that the appearance of this “Box” in 2002 was intimately connected with the publication of my 1,000-page blockbuster, James the Brother of Jesus: The Key to Unlocking the Secrets of Early Christianity and the Dead Sea Scrolls … That book put this “James the Brother of Jesus” ‘on the map,’

Lack of modesty is normal in academic circles, but in such an uncontaminated form, it’s pretty rare.
