Home… And Now, To Defeat Jet Lag

Subregions of Europe (UN geoschme)

The first time I went to Europe the wondrous George Beasley-Murray and his kind wife Ruth were my hosts.  When he picked me up from the airport he said ‘In order to overcome jet lag as quickly as possible, adopt the local time the day you arrive’.  I did, and have, ever since.  Which makes day one rough but all the following days are essentially jet-lag free.

So, tonight, I’ll stay up till the news is almost over like I usually do.  That means I will have been up for a total of 27 hours straight (since one can’t really sleep on a plane).

If I inadvertently post something raucous, do pardon me.  Blame it on the lag.

I traveled to Germany years ago, and I stayed awake for 30 hours.
