I’ve even been cited by atheists with approval (which I really don’t know how to take, so thanks, I think, but I’m not sure, Vrider (even though I feel like I need to take a shower now)). But it is truly really strange that PZ and I agree on the ‘exodus proven by science’ nonsense that spewed onto the web the other day and has now been covered by every news outlet from Beijing to Jerusalem. Duane has the lowdown.
I’m positive PZ isn’t approaching from the same angle as myself. But if he sees the report for the rubbish it is, good for him.
I once was interested in that sort of stuff, but gradually they became more and more silly to me. Do you remember a few years ago, some dolt had this idea that a freak thin layer of ice must have formed on the Sea of Galilee allowing Jesus and Peter to walk on water. Look, Jesus did need some parlor trick to do his work. God did not need to use some freak windstorm to part the sea. God is God and he is in control of everything.

exactly- all such ‘explanations’ are really a-theism.

I met, Jesus did NOT need some parlor tricks. I really enjoy reading about archeology finds and they sometimes shed light on different practices and beliefs that are mentioned in the Bible. But God and the Bible don’t need our help.

Don’t let it go to your head. I’ll admit I find your embrace of minimalism refreshing, though.
