Snapped: This Could So Easily Be Me

A Jet Blue flight attendant, apparently fed up with his job, pulled the emergency chute at the back of the plane and jumped out, according to NBC. Flight 1052 had just landed at JFK from Pittsburgh around noon on Monday when Steven Slater got into a verbal spat with a passenger. Apparently, one of the passengers got up to get luggage out of the overhead compartment before he was allowed to and hit Slater in the head with his bag, the Port Authority told NBC. Instead of apologizing, the passenger cursed out Slater; Slater in turn got on the announcement system and started cursing at everyone on the plane. Slater then ran off of the tarmac and into the terminal. He was later arrested in his home in Bell Harbor, Queens. The Port Authority is considering whether to charge him with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal trespassing.

After a while, it gets to ya, ya know?  And then, one day, you just snap.  No one ever expects it to happen, but then when it does, they say ‘I knew he was going to snap, I just didn’t know when’.

Steven Slater, I’m on your side buddy.  I probably would have wanted to open the door and toss the rude passenger out first and then followed him down.   And I think they should have arrested the passenger instead.  Toss him in the can for a while and maybe he’d learn to follow directions.

I think they actually should have given the rude, loudmouthed, idiot passenger the chute and pushed him off the plane. There, everybody’s either happy, or getting what they deserve.

Yes, I saw that she whacked him in the head, but missed the about her gender!

Meanwhile, I thought that not following the instructions of a flight attendant was a federal crime. Yeah, charge that lady instead! Let her see get to know the slammer a bit.
