Well, you know … not so much READ it as skimmed it.
But I’m sure I got the basic gist.
The more controversial the subject or person, therefore, the more perfect and unassailable the Wikipedia entry is assumed to be. And footnotes, don’t bother reading them to discover that primary and secondary sources have actually been misquoted or misrepresented, just assume anything in the body of the wiki entry must be accurate.
On the other hand wiki-entries on comic books and pop music are usually frighteningly well-sourced and reliable.
