Serpent-handling preachers in Tennessee and Kentucky are getting a television reality show. The Tennessean reported National Geographic Channel will carry “Snake Salvation,” which debuts Sept. 10 at 8 p.m. CDT. The preachers are Andrew Hamblin of Tabernacle Church of God in LaFollette, Tenn., and Gregory Jamie Coots of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name church of Middlesboro, Ky. Coots said the TV show will feature scenes from worship services where snakes are handled as well as church members’ efforts to live out their faith daily.
Oh boy. These preachers will be the Little Honey Boo Boo’s of the clergy set. They’ll be so proud…
[I sure wish they were doing this in W. Virginia and Kentucky... but then again, W. Virginia has had its moment in the sun thanks to their recently cancelled redneck hillbilly mud-boggers show... And at least the preachers featured will be pentebabbleists and not Baptists].
