These people really are nervy aren’t they, the sort who think that because they have a BA in philosophy it means that they’re qualified and competent to opine on a professional historian/scholar’s work. Mr Potemra should stick with what he knows; i.e., political speech writing (a.k.a., lying).
Here’s your Dilly Mr Potemra:

You opine quite a bit on political subjects,
Are we to assume that you have a PHD or even a basic degree in political science Jim?
silly boy- have i ever written a book review on a book on political science?
Yeahhhhhhh but you often say things like, “You aren’t a scholar in this subject….so your opinion doesn’t count” without qualifications like the one you just made above. Is that a general rule or does it only apply in the situation of publication?
it applies whenever someone talks about important issues like biblical studies or theology or church history. important stuff. stuff that matters. nothing else matters.
So what if someone has a PHD in church history but not in theology. Technically, they are not scholars of theology. Does their opinion count then? Or, what if someone has a PHD in the history of philosophy, specializing in that of Thomas Aquinas. If they make a statement about medieval church history, does it not count?
one cant have a phd in church history without being VERY familiar with theology since they go hand in hand. and history of phil + aquinas = boring as death and who cares.
