Mega church Pastor and televangelist Rod Parsley is teaming up with another Prosperity and Word of Faith teacher and multi millionaire Kenneth Copeland and (wait for it) yup, NFL Quarter back, Tim Tebow! In a conference said to let you “experience the power of the Holy Spirit, and learn how the anointing of God to can resonate in your life”.
Either they’re using Tebow to draw a crowd (in a sense ‘pimping him out’) and he just doesn’t know it- or he’s fallen for the worst sort of self serving pseudo-theology operative today- the ‘prosperity’ false-gospel. Either way this bodes ill. And just as I was starting to like the kid for his philanthropic efforts and orthodox beliefs.
UPDATE: Rod’s going to have to change his poster. Tim Tebow has canceled. According to his spokesman, the conference doesn’t reflect his beliefs. *Applause*

Anyone who professes his faith in public is – in my personal view – to be suspected. Pray at home, pray simply; or pray in the church, with your compagnions; and there are a couple of other public occasions in which prayer is OK.
But Mr Tebow, who prays in public and allows us to know what he does about charity, seems to me to be a Pharisee in the worst sense of the word.
