Another Pastor Is An Embarassment to the Baptist Family And the Christian Faith

In the wake of the adoption of health reform

Orange County, California Pastor Wiley Drake called for the death of all 219 Democrats who voted for the bill, through the power of imprecatory prayer. This is nothing new to this conservative Christian, as he has prayed for and encouraged prayers for the death of Obama in the past.

That’s not how real Baptists act. It’s not what real Christians do. And it certainly isn’t what Jesus taught any of us to do when, while being crucified, prayed ‘father, forgive them.’  Wiley Drake is just a watered down version of Fred Phelps.  A hatemonger who, when the day of reckoning comes, will be thoroughly surprised when he hears the Lord say to him, ‘depart from me, worker of iniquity, and take your place in the hell of fire prepared for the Devil and his messengers’.

But the miserably awful ‘Baptist’ Drake is just a drop in the bucket of the depraved who think that violence is justifiable when disagreement over policy occurs.

Shame on each and every Conservative or Christian who stands silently while violence is promoted. Shame on them because they are neither genuinely conservative nor partially Christian.

“through the power of imprecatory prayer.”

At least he is not going to do anything remotely dangerous. More than can be said for those nuts who slashed the propane line.
